SCHÜLER Defense Technology

For more than 50 years, the core competence of SCHÜLER Wehrtechnik has been in the area of component maintenance for wheeled and tracked vehicles used for military purposes by the Bundeswehr (Federal Armed Forces).

In addition, we manufacture brake components, primarily for the LEOPARD 1 and LEOPARD 2 tanks and the Fuchs armored personnel carrier, and, as an OEM, supply replacement parts to the Bundesamt für Ausrüstung, Informationstechnik und Nutzung der Bundeswehr [“Federal Office of Equipment, Information Technology, and Use of the Bundeswehr”] (BAAINBw), to the German military technology sector, and, increasingly, to foreign states.

Our business areas in detail:

Component group maintenance

Our framework contract with the BAAINBw covers maintenance of approximately three hundred different component groups. In addition to the maintenance of the brake systems and electrical systems of armored Bundeswehr vehicles such as the WIESEL, FUCHS, and MARDER and the LEOPARD 1 and LEOPARD 2 tanks, the component groups of almost all protected and unprotected transport vehicles are included in our maintenance spectrum.

We carry out repairs and testing down to the level of individual parts in accordance with the requirements of Materialerhaltungsstufe [“Material Maintenance Level”] (MES) 4. Final 100% testing at our use-specific testing sites and exhaustive documentation guarantee the highest quality and safety in each vehicle.

Our many years of trustworthy cooperation with component group manufacturers

  • Bosch
  • Continental Aftermarket
  • Knorr

and many others guarantee us a dependable supply of replacement parts at competitive prices.

Manufacture of new brake components

Today more than ever, changes within the Federal Armed Forces and the military technology sector demand that specialized medium-sized companies show a high degree of flexibility and ability to innovate. The manufacture of new brake components for the LEOPARD 1 and LEOPARD 2 tanks and the Fuchs armored personnel carrier is a step toward specializing ourselves not only in the maintenance but also in the qualified manufacturing of component groups and special equipment.

Custom-built products

Computer-supported planning, the broad expertise of our employees, and the presence of the technical prerequisites allow us to satisfy the individual requirements of customers to an extremely high degree. The spectrum comprises the construction and manufacture of specialized tools, production facilities, and testing sites and also of wood and metal parts in accordance with individual customer specifications.

Transport containers

As a supplier to the Bundeswehr or to civilian customers we manufacture wooden transport and storage containers for packing large component groups that are maintained in our own facilities and for domestic and international freight transportation. Depending upon the respective target area, we manufacture in accordance with the technical supplier conditions (technischen Lieferbedingungen—TL) and defense equipment standards (Verteidigungsgerätenormen—VG) of the Bundeswehr and the IPPC standards for export goods.
